SUMMARY Maltese Regiments of the British Army The Maltese Coast Artillery, 1802-1815.
The second unit was a Battalion of Artillery consisting of 300 men, styled the Maltese Coast Artillery and which was cammanded by Major Vivian, then also Inspector of Maltese and Foreign Troops. It was divided into three companies of 100 men each who manned the various coastal batteries and guarded against smuggling. The term of enlistment was for five years.
