SUMMARY Maltese Regiments of the British Army The Maltese Militia Coast Artillery, 1802-1815. Two other units were raised in 1801 by Captain Vivian who was deputy to Sir Alexander Ball during the blockade. They consisted of two companies of artillery, styled the Maltese Militia Coast Artillery and detailed for the manning of coastal batteries at St.Paul's Bay and Marsaxlokk.
