(Fusilier of the Regiment of Malta)

The Reggimento Di Malta was raised in 1777 as a regular infantry regiment, for both defence and internal security. Officers of this Regiment were all Knights of the Order of St. John. It was disbanded in 1798.

Gunner 1890 in pillbox hat

Originally formed as Royal Malta Fencible Regiment and later converted into an artillery corps. Uniform similar to that worn by the Royal Regiment of Artillery but with the distinction of having the Maltese Cross on its appointments.
