The currency of Malta under the Knights of St. John was principally denominated in Scudi, Tarì and Grani.
20 grani = 1 tarì
12 tarì = 1 scudo
Towards the end of the rule of the Order, the silver coins in general circulation had face values of 1 tarì, 2 tarì, 4 tarì, 6 tarì, 1 scudo, 15 tarì, 2 scudi & 30 tarì.
